November. 9, 2025, 11:48 PM (Edited by TDRR) savebak v2 - Prevent campaign progress loss
A tiny addon to help you manually store the current save data into a file, just in case Zandronum decides to not save or crash on exit, costing you potentially hours of progress!

DOWNLOAD!

To use it, simply use `logfile filename` to create a log with the specified filename in Zandro's current folder. By default (controllable with `sbak_autosave`) the save CVARs will be printed to the console (and the active log file) every time you enter a map in singleplayer. You can also do this manually by using `savebak`. Then you can just replace the existing CVARs in the .ini following the slightly more detailed instructions in the mod itself, in case the game crashed or otherwise didn't save.

November. 6, 2025, 3:34 PM (Edited by TDRR) Rocket Knight-style Dash - v2
This is a simple addon adding a new movement option to the game. While designed for base MM8BDM, it should be compatible with any IWAD or MM8BDM addon. The dash takes assets from Rocket Knight Adventures for the Sega Genesis, as well as some of the mechanics that game used.

DOWNLOAD!

To use the dash, you have to bind a key, called `perform dash` in the keys menu. Charge it by holding the bound key, and once fully charge the bar will start flashing, then you can perform the dash by releasing the key. The dash will go in the horizontal direction you were looking while you released the key, and you'll get one instant buffered jump once you land (that is, hold the jump button as you land and you'll instantly jump automatically once). Additionally, you can cancel a dash started on the ground with a jump, which will also give you the extra instant buffered jump. The extra jump can be used for speed preservation, or...

Ledge jumps! The way you do this is dashing into a ledge you'd normally have to jump into (grazing the ledge sideways also works, but is harder to line up), and then cancel the dash with a jump, holding the jump and forward buttons. You'll jump off the ground but also instantly after crossing the ledge height, gaining the same height but much faster. You can also time your jump so you keep dashing forward and reach the ledge with enough height to instantly jump again, letting you cross slightly larger gaps.

(outdated, this video doesn't have the charge mechanic, but the dash itself is mostly the same)

Also, the rocket flames will spawn at your feet. I had to compromise this way since some skins are way too tall, which meant trying to put it more or less on the shorter ones' back leads to it looking more like a fart than anything else on the big ones :p
